“Inspire the Artist within You”
I’m excited to offer you my “Oil Painting FUNdamentals” class in my Thousand Oaks studio.
Open enrolment: Wednesday mornings: 9 am to noon
I’m looking to inspire the artist within you and I’ve found that oil painting is the perfect medium to help you begin that fabulous journey. No other medium has colors as juicy and luminous as oil paint and the buttery consistency allows you to really “play with the paint”. We make it fun!
Classes for beginners and intermediate levels, ages 16+
- Have fun developing the fundamental skills that make a successful painting.
- Learn many secrets on how to mix and use color confidently
- Develop paintings with strong values and solid compositions.
- You can expect lots of individual attention, critiques and instructor demos.
$30 per class or $100 for 4 classes plus a onetime $15 materials fee. Visa/MC accepted

“Add Drama, Focus and Fearless Color to Your Paintings”
A 2 day painting workshop on color and design
I will instruct an action packed 2-day oil painting workshop on color and composition at the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery 2331 Borchard Road in Newbury Park on Saturday & Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Saturday is “Fearless Color” day where you learn how to mix, measure, see and understand a color’s value, temperature and intensity. Learn a safe logical way to make “Brave” color choices. This is good stuff!
Sunday is “Drama & Focus” day. All good paintings start with a good design. You will learn a 3 step approach to design your paintings with strong values, solid compositions, compelling focal points and personal meaning. In other words, you will learn techniques to keep you out of trouble so you can have fun and paint.
This workshop is sponsored by the Westlake Village Art Guild. The fee is $65 a day or $110 for both days. Visa/MC accepted. All supplies can be included for a $15 materials fee per day.
